Overall responsibility to ensure that the policies and guidelines for "MARREG" are properly implemented shall rest upon the
Government of West Bengal with O/o Registrar General of Marriages exercising oversight function.
Computerisation of the process of registration of marriages necessitates the need to preserve data in electronic form and aid that the incumbents
get a fair trial in the event of any dispute arising out of the marriage, viz.
- Polygamy / Polyandry
- Legal separation
- Grant of citizenship
- Other legal and social angles

সাইটটি যেকোনো অবস্থান থেকে ইন্টারনেট সুবিধার মাধ্যমে ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারবে বলে এটি বিবাহ নিবন্ধীকরণের ক্ষেত্রে দ্রুততা প্রদান করতে পারবে।
"ম্যারেজে"র জন্য নীতিমালা ও নির্দেশাবলী সঠিকভাবে বাস্তবায়িত হয় তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য সামগ্রিক দায়িত্ত ও তদারকির ভার পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের রেজিস্ট্রার জেনারেল অফ ম্যারেজেস অফিসের উপর দেয়া হয়েছে।
বিবাহ নিবন্ধীকরণ প্রক্রিয়াটি সম্পুর্ণ কম্পুটারাইযেসান হবার জন্য সমস্ত তথ্য বৈদ্যুতিন আকারে সংরক্ষিত হবে ফলে বিবাহ থেকে উদ্ভূত যেকোনো বিতর্ক থেকে একটি ন্যায্য বিচার পাওয়া যেতে পারে যেমন -
- বহুবিবাহ / বহুভর্তৃকত্ব (একই স্ত্রীলোক কর্তৃক একই কালে বহুপতি গ্রহণ)
- আইনী বিচ্ছেদ
- নাগরিকত্ব প্রদান
- অন্যান্য আইনগত ও সামাজিক দৃষ্টিকোণ
